Basically the receipt notice we will get soon would have a 'received date' and a 'notice date'.
I read in another forum that 90-day count starts from the received date.
I am not sure though!
Why is it that important? Before EAD was taking about 1.5-2 months. Now it will take a lot more, more than 90 days. I don't think now they will care about that 90 days thing. It wasn't a law requiring them to issue EAD in that period, they were just saying "if you haven't received in 90 days - call us" - that's all.

i guess it doesn't count ppl who are waiting. The no of ppl who are not able to file 485 is huge.
From the data, it seems you are right. But it is pretty confusing. If your logic is correct then once the July 2007 backlog is cleared, will they say 0 demand and then make all dates current again ??
The "demand" ideally should mean people whose 140 has been cleared and waiting to file 485 + those whose 485 has been filed and not yet processed.

I doubt we can threaten to get sanctions passed on Exceed .. i dont think we have the political clout for that. All we can do for now is plead, reason and educate senators of the unfair treatment we get from the broken immigration system. If our membership keeps growing to a point where we represent most of the affected legal immigrants at the mercy of USCIS (close to half a million), then its a different story, not to mention if we had the numbers and political clout of the illegals. Just my opinion.

I did masters and worked on OPT for sometime with Company A and they applied H1B,
still working for Company A as H1B as Senoir Programmer ANalyst.
At one point CompanyB filed GC process and I-140 approved as a IT Manager in EB2
PD=jan 2006
Still working with H1B from COmpany A
I never worked for Company B and it no longer exists...
Company A recently merged with ANother Company X

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

I am in a similar situation. What did your friend end up doing? I would appreciate any feedback on this.
My 140 is approved, 6th year expires in March 09, 485 has not been filed due to retrogression and there is a potential for a layoff. Can I transfer 140 to a new employer and file 3 yr extension at the same time?
You can not transfer I140. You may need to start from PERM and port your PD from the approvd I140. I am not sure about the H1 part.

I feel that your current status is "Entered into USA using H1B Visa". I needed to e-file for my wife and mentioned "SPOUSE/CHILD OF H-1 THRU H-3" for that.
Since no one has answered your question, I am just providing information, what I have done. It may not be accurate. I hope no one puts "RED" marks for this. RED marks have become pretty common for providing any suggestion.

My dad health is not stable and has been admitted to hospital. I would like to visit him. Does this qualify for emergency appointment. Mine is H1 revalidation.
Also please let me know what forms I need to complete before going to india.

In word from your situation yes you can qualify for the emergency situation
the below are the reasons VFS mentioned when i was going for revalidation
1.Returning worker
2. For attending a funeral
3. If some family member is seriously ill
But things change i would advise you to check the website it tells u clearly who qualify for the emergency appointment. Also write to the consulate with your situation they will definately respond to you.

Where you filed I-485 is not a criteria to select where the EAD application should be submitted (renewal or first time). Just check the state and supporting service center and file it there. I filed my I-485 in Nebraska alongwith first time EAD and AP. But now (as written in I-765 instructions), I need to file it in the service center that processes my state (Georgia). Hope it helps.

If your husband is working for one of the infamous desi outfits where bench means no salary, then I'd suggest that you avoid travelling since you may be asked to produce a paystub on return.
OTOH, if your husband is working for a legitimate consulting company that pays him even when he is not billable to a client, then you have nothing to fear about.

I just checked with my Lawyer. I am a July 2 receipt guy and my 180 days got over. Currently my wife moved from her H1B(not stamped yet, she moved from H4 to H1) to EAD and I am still on H1B.
My lawyer says if I am on H1B and she is on EAD it will create issues when our EAD goes for renewal. She claims I also should change my status now to EAD. I thought staying on H1B was safe and now I get this response. I told her so many people I know have done the same thing and she is asking if I will jump into the well like others:))).
Please advise
