This is what he did. He attached the new I 94 that I got at the POE and which shows my status as Parole till 01/22/2007. He has however sent the old h1 approval notice as well showing my h1 valid till 06/01/2007. He ia rushing my h1 ext application so that it reaches the USCIS office on 01/22/2007 the day my parole expires. This system is really confusing dude!!!

I guess we'll need to ADD to that number:
1. BEC stuck folks who could not file in July 07
2. PERM approvals starting August 07
to the 47,728. Plus multiply by 2.1( for dependents ). That'll give the total VISA numbers required for this category to make it Current.
If I have to guess-- (1) would be very less, may be 100-200 max
(2) around 5000 ( just a PUMA)
So, there are about 53000 EB2 I applications. and 2.1 * 53000 = 111300.
If we can create 111300, EB2 I visas then it'll be CURRENT. easy:)

We heard so many stories about violation many Indian bodyshoppers like bench without pay,Low pay ,fake resumes and many more. But when any bill comes to control them we are opposing. Because we fear that we may be one of the persons working in those companies and may be impacted by that.
Certainly the bill is not a pro immigrant and anti immigrant bill. But some kind of restriction is needed to clean out H1b. I accept as a pro immigrant we have to oppose any anti immigrant bill. So I am sure IV will try to block the bill as they did the restriction in TARP.
I am not going to get any benefit if they shut the door behind me. I need just one job that I can get any time and whatever compettion and there is no need to shut thousands of people. So my views are not based on any personal ambition.

Also it can open opportunity to increase H1b Cap and Green card Cap. So there is a good possiblity to reduce or eliminate retrogession.

for some reason, the pdf file is not opening....I will do the flyer posting wherever I can.....We should also probably write up a mail that can be mass mailed to recruit the many who are affected or may potentially be affcted by this issue, or whose loved ones are affected. We should also do a smart media camapaign- even try to draw attention of network programs like 20/20 or 60 minutes that have a mass impact- to the really tragic situation many ppl are in (esp. one case from the last board comes to mind- of course we have to be ultra-sensitive about privacy and other sensitivities of the individuals involved).....getting the attention of the major networks may not be as far fetched as it seems- much less worthy causes have been championed by these programs.....if we articulate it well to the producers involved, with the right mix of facts and the personal, I believe many will consider it seriously, even though immigration is a complex issue to many....like i said we shd not underestimate the american sense of fairness, and we have a very good cause where we need some of it.....it will appear dreadfully unfair to many that people who have been paying social security taxes for 5-10 years are not even allowed the security of knowing whether they themselves will be eligible for it when they need it! I heard that they stopped giving interim EAD's. So all were asked to apply atleast 3-4 months before other wise status will be lost unless you have valid H1. Not to scare anyone but thats what I read somewhere.

I got only one set of A# for both the applications. When I filed my second application I didn't have my A#. But we have mentioned clearly that there is another application that is filed on behalf of same applicant on MM/DD/YYYY.

How many times in this thread I have mentioned that I am getting replaced by one of these L-1B resource, I am a poor Oracle/DB developer who fortunately cannot be replaced by L-1B visa resources (as my skills is a common technical one). So once these violations impact your day to day life you look around for ways to stop this fraud. Its true that if I was a Nuero Surgeon in Phily or a Astro Scientist in Houston I wouldn't be interested in this violation :-) .... tomorrow let this scenario happen to you ... you would be first one to raise the alert.
Regarding 'getting burnt', I don't think there is bigger burn than loosing our jobs (which already is happening) and hope you know that there is something called 'anonymity'... ya lets see whos going to get 'burnt' here. We'll definetly keep you updated regarding the outcome.

Yet you don't seem to have an issue that you have applied in EB2 - exceptional ability / advanced degree. At this time, you are likely holding a H1B status - a speciality occupation visa. People who meet the conditions above can benefit the US Economy in a long run because...
1)Deficits are going to be high for a long time...in trillions, and if we are allowed to apply for naturalization directly, there is a better chance for us to pay taxes to reduce the burden.
2)If we are asked to leave now, the US is committed to Social Security payments(with the minimum 40 points) even if we are outside.
3)By now, we already have kids who are American citizens... which means that when they become 18, they can always sponsor us as citizens. All that we are asking is for the congress to do the same a few years earlier. It is better we are here in our earning years than when we are in our older years.
If this Bill is introduced in congress, people will listen because...
1)People waiting for 10 years... and done all the right things, no one can simply ignore. Also, there will be a sense of guilt on the US Government to have let the situation deteriorate. They will think of ways to make the transition smoother... remember they created a special green card category for Iraqis since there was a sense of guilt.
2) Whether this passes congress or not, there is a legitimate argument of asking for the congress to rectify the situation. That is the best we can do.
3) We need to give more and more options to the congress. Not everything sticks, but even if one or two get passed, it goes a long way to help all of us.
I personally will contribute bigtime if IV core want to take this up!

There is no contract to change the plans. I just spoke to Vonage customer service. She clearly explained me about the contract requirements. In fact there is no commitment for the new users also. The 1-year contract which shows on the website is for the Phone Adapter. They only charge for the phone adapter if you discontinue your service before 1 year. No strings for the existing customers.

My wife and I both got our LC approved. She filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently for both of us in Nov.2006 (Nebraska Center), based on her LC. Then I filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently for both of us again in Jan,2007 (Texas Center), based on my LC.
The EADs she applied got aproved pretty quickly. Several days ago, my EAD applications got denied. The denial reason is, we already have approved EAD.
Originally our plan is: My wife will switch to a Finance related job soon (her LC is based on Software job), I will wait for GC. (The reason we still filed for multiple 485 and EAD is that we want to postpone the decision on who should wait for GC). Now I'm totally confused on whether she can use the EAD, and whether I can renew the approved EAD (because they are based on her application).
Any inputs or clarifications will be greatly appreciated.

every lawyer who has OKed multiple 485s has specifically asked us to apply for EAD/AP on only one of the applications.
