One idea is to give GC to AOS applicants regardless of namecheck result, if all
other security checks are OK and let the namecheck run in background . If the namecheck turns out critical , cancel the GC & deport the applicant.
But USCIS and lawyers will loose big time , because of reduced demand for APs,EADs etc.
Lets add this in IV action Item.

If AILA is telling that means there is 50% chance of rumors becoming true. If the rumors are true then State Dept and USCIS mismanaged visa numbers. Anyhow wait and see couple of days

We received the snail mail welcome notice today after receiving the email ADIT stuff last Tuesday (August 10). That makes it five business days. On the notice it says that we should receive our permanent resident card within three weeks. Anybody who actually received it within three weeks?

I'm a great fan of Obama for what he has achieved so far and in all probability he will in Nov. I hope the new CIR will not be similar to CIR 2007 as far legal immigration is concerned. After 8 years of paying taxes I would definitely feel greatly disappointed if we get a raw deal for being legal

Did any one get their GCs WITHOUT getting the CPO email? I got PDA emails Sep 11 (saying that they have approved the I485 applications), followed by SLUDs Sep 13. I didn't get any CPO email or other notification. Should I expect the CPO emails and THEN the GCs, or just simply the GCs?

I have an appointment at Kolkata on the 11th. Scheduled to fly back to US on the 26th. Considering Martin Luther king Jr day it will be 9 working days. After seeing the PIMS delays, I am seriously considering return back on AP. Cannot take the risk of delaying the flight as I dont have vacations to hang around and wait for PP.

I also spoke to Terry at NSC once. She is very nice and will try to tell you as many details as possible.
@ Alterego: Dude, when the responses you are getting are basically "under review, wait 90 days", it is much nicer to know details like storage area, exam area, and where your file is.

USCIS should be providing all basic information on cases on case status area of the website. This would reduce number of calls to USCIS and reduce such posts where each conversation with an IO generates some information and misinformation on forums. This feeds to rumors and incorrect information circulated on forums. While such information helps generate lot of threads, page views and ad revenue for other websites, As an organization we should be cautioning people about this.
On the donor forum we have posted some tips what you can do get your greencard. There is no need to make calls everyday trying to get status. If your application is outside processing time, you can simply open a service request. There are other options like Ombudsman and local Congressman's office. We have also posted to our members that if if you have tried all options everywhere and you are in a desperate situation, Immigration voice will help its continued donor members.
In my opinion posts such as "storage area, exam area, and where your file is, pre-approved" only drive curiosity and mass calls that will not help processing of your case. We as an educated and mature community should not fall for such information on the forums.

I am also from India but the point I am discussing here is clearly a violation of law by Outsourcing vendors including IBM (not just Indian companies), TCS, Wipro etc. I work for a medium size consulting firm based in US and on H1 visa ...and I am impacted by these violations and I think I have the right to oppose this act.... to prove my identity shud I tell you my stories in Chennai consulate... or shud I tell u abt my days in b'lore or shud I tell you all abt my 24 years in India.. you can decide :-).
BUT regarding the L1 violation we have decided and this time the vendor is exposed to the authorities and justice is done. We have the support of good client managers who understands visa regulations.

If you are really sincere, why don't you send your name, phone number and employer name to IV and IV will put you in touch with the right people to complain?

OP should try to pursue this through a lawyer if s/he can. For the rest of us, maybe time to think of what we can do together to not face this again in the future. Lot of us are going to be on EAD for a while.

I don't think so EB2 will make any difference.Its the matter of when they lay their hands on your packet and open it.
Also I have a friend 2nd July Filer filed from NSC and got transferred to TSC , he received his receipts last week and good thing was after two days he had EAD cards sitting in his mailbox too.
The TSC maybe slow in opening the packages but they are fast in sending FPs and EADs.
So hang in there and hopefully you get everything soon.

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On September 14, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
My wife received here Welcome letter but I did not get one yet. Here is my timeline...
09/08/2010 - CPO emails for self and wife
09/09/2010 - Got emails updating the status to Decision for self and wife
09/10/2010 - Standard CPO email to self
09/11/2010 - Wife got the welcome letter (I-797) by USPS
09/15/2010 - CPO email to self with the new message (Document sent to address on file)
Still waiting for cards in hand.

Looks like there is no specific pattern in the way this is handled. Some get Decision first followed by CPO followed by post decision activity, some get CPO first, some get post decision activity.

What about another plan to attack F1?
You are NOT supposed to have immigration intent when you apply F1. So what about targeting all those F1 now, since it is very obvious that they didnt come here just to study and go back. So lets smoke them out based on their "fraud intentions".
After that lets attack the H1 landers. Many of them landed in H1 with body shoppers, and later changed to some big american company. Lets find some thing or other against these body shoppers, and all those H1 came with these body shoppers should go back (even though they are with some other company).
Ok. what is left.......... lets find out something bad about everybody else, except me.
Ohh... wait a sec..... we were supposed to be "united", by this forum, not "divided".
In that case L1fraud himself could come under radar.

But I can not help but notice the timing of priority dates becoming current and also these rumours.
The priority dates became current right before the immigration bill was to be brought up for the second time in the senate. Now as the bill has been shot down, next day these rumours begin surfacing. Guess no need to keep us distracted anymore, so no need to go through the pain of getting bombarded with applications.
Remember both are extraordinarily extreme measures. Make priority dates jump 5 years in one month and then retrogress them in the middle of the month.
Call me wildly imaginative, but I can't help but think that maybe there are people in senior positions in USCIS who would be at home in NumbersUSA.
